Ok first thins first. Anime is the abbreviation of the word animation. "Outside Japan, the term most popularly refers to the medium of animation originating in Japan, with distinctive character and background aesthetics that visually set it apart from other forms of animation (e.g. Walt Disney films, Warner Bros. short cartoons)." --> en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AnimeUsually anime's are the animated version of mangas which are the comic books of the Japanese. Why do we like anime? For me, it's all about the plot. Wonderful animation, great plot as well as good music. I can't ask for more. Besides it frees everyone's imagination from magic (see card captior sakura) or just plain high school life (see gokusen or hana yori dango). Also, it's like a book but this time you can see in front of you what you are reading. Lol. And most of all, it's entertaining! ;D |

Anime has more plot than your average Wesern cartoons; it's also more diverse, with its target audience ranging from kids all the way to adults. My favourite, Neon Genesis Evangelion for instance, is very much philosophical in nature.

Anime is kawaii~ (cute) Hmmm for youngsters, the first thing they notice is the unique style of drawing. Like when I was a kid, during the Sailor Moon days of ABC5, I was actually stunned when I saw the style of how they drew the characters. The plot is just terrific. Japanese animators/story writers are so creative and they can think of ny topic just to be its plot. Who would think that Tennis can be very interesting in a series? (no offense meant but I don't like sports.  ) |

ANIME IS THE BEST THAT THING THAT HAS EVER CAME INTO MY WHOLE LIFE!!!! Kung mahilig ka sa anime at mei cable ka, pwde kang matuto sa HEROTV.... maganda un.... I love anime.... Anime is like cartoons pero galing sa japan, china or korea. unlike cartoons, mukhang totoo ang anime at nkakarelate din sa totoong buhay...  |

ANIME!!?!? Anime is Rabu! (love)
Anyway, it was really anime that introduced me to Japan! haha..now I'm my adoration for
Nippon (japan) completely goes beyond that.
anyway, back to the topic..
Anime, as nonz said, are usually animated version of mangas(comics). The difference between
anime and cartoons:
1. DRAWING!! the style is waaayyy cooler! haha
2. They can be almost about anything! Japanese animators are so creative
and amazing! The plot can be from ordinary life, to witches, to magic and to robots!
All in all, anime is more intresting..Some of my favorites are Inuyasha and Samurai X! haha..

Additional to that, the first anime is actually inspired by the american cartoon Betty Boop. The big eyes seen in anime is actually from Betty Boop.  Hehehe! |

Yep it's true. Trivia siya...lumang lumang lumang trivia na about Anime.... kahit sa Anime 101 sa Hero TV namention siya....pero nalaman ko siya sa kuya ko XD
Uhmmm.... ano pa ba about anime?
Mostly, one way for a j-band to be famous is through animes. Tulad na nga lang ng L'Arc En Ciel....sumikat sila after they hosted a song in an anime <forgot which>.
